I already have a bachelor’s degree and have been seriously considering switching into teaching in NYC, but the certification process feels way more confusing than expected. There are so many alternative certification programs with different timelines, costs, and requirements that it’s hard to tell what actually matters.

For people who went the career-change route, what should someone really focus on when comparing programs? Exam prep, classroom support, certification timeline, hiring process, something else?
