New to CIV - I understood basic concepts but I have no clue on what to prioritize
I now have some sense of how to settle and what I should do for the first 50ish turns :
- Understand basic settle spots (but I don’t get why some cities progress so slow sometimes)
- Try to have 3 cities
- Have couple units
- Try to preplan cities around 2/3 districts locations
But then… that’s it..
If I want to go for a victory, I just all in on campuses for science, theatre square for culture.
I have feel like I’m playing the game wrong as things get too linear and I don’t have the tempo to produce military units or research the lower part of the tech tree for military stuff.
I have no clue how to use Faith and if it’s useful unless you want to play a religious victory.
Upon creating new cities I try to buy monument + granary with gold.
I never use the destroy feature of builders as I feel it’s worst in the longer run, I don’t know.
I played Grece (going vertical culture and getting all painters/writers/musicians) and Aztecs (try to snowball of free builders from fighting city states to use their charges for the 20% completion of districts)
I tend to always go for the Hanging Garden as it feels OP but I don’t know if it’s good.
Early game, I usually don’t go for scouts and rather have slingers/eagle warriors. I always take Magnus first for the settler bonus and pair it with the production bonus towards settlers card.
Then I always buy with gold a trader which I don’t know if it’s any good.
What should I do to progress, understand mid game and actually have more depth to my basic game plans?
