How to get Religious Settlements

I always seem to miss the chance to get this pantheon. I’ve been changing my build order to get scouts early to discover wonders early, but someone always beats me to the first pantheon and takes Religious Settlements. What strategies can guarantee that I get it first?

Religious settlements is taken, what do you default to next?

Ignoring civ traits and specifics, what pantheon do you usually go for next and why?

I'm a filthy casual who usually misses religious settlements even on prince because I don't like to think too hard when I'm vegging out and playing whatever.

But y'all like to actually plan and think things through, and I like to read whatever thoughts you drop in here.

So. A penny for your thoughts?

It's such an irrelevant start for Gaul that I absolutely have to play it until the end of the game.

36 Mbanzas

I've always wanted to build a Kongolese city with only their unique district while having the public transport card installed and until yesterday I could never find a spot with all 36 tiles available to build on. All that food, production, and gold and not a single citizen producing any of it. I might update when the city grows more and I have Pingala installed.

Title. Mine is the Ottomans Atomic themes with Vietnam, Georgias, and Maori's Atomic themes being very close behind.

Is it better to just stay at war rather than take multiple ceding penalties in peace?

I've got Korea down to its last city in the waning days of the Medieval Era, it's pretty isolated and unlikely to cause problems for me in the foreseeable future. But I was sending my troops over to it anyway when they sued for peace. This time they were offering all the gold in their treasury and all their gold per turn, were willing to part with their one luxury, and even tossed in some Diplomatic Favor on top. Of course, since this is a game with all expansions, they also ceded all of their captured cities to me.

Naturally, the very next turn, two other civs denounce me because of all the additional grievances generated against me due to the ceding of those Korean cities. One of those civs is on another continent, but the other isn't.

My question is: Is it worth taking the peace deal with Korea for the payout, or is it actually better to just refuse the peace deal, even if I have no intention of taking Korea's last city right now, just to avoid the warmongering penalties with other civs?

I can always take the last Korean city later if I want, whether I continue the war or take the peace deal. So I guess what it comes down to is how worried I am about the Vikings and the Mapuche (the one on my continent) denouncing me, and if those denunciations/warmongering penalties are worth the payout from Korea.

It feels really weird that the game is having me consider a forever war in order to avoid warmongering penalties, but maybe that's a valid strat? Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

can you help guys please

How can I win? Is it even possible right now? This is basically my first time playing this game, and there are still some aspects where I haven't quite grasped what I need to do. Could you please enlighten me? I would really appreciate it if you could explain where I'm falling short and how I can improve. I also want to prove a point to a friend who told me this game is too complex and hard to understand.

Won My First Game! Science victory With Rome!

After perpetually restarting over and over again to try and get a better start I finally won my first game on Prince difficulty going for science. It was pretty cool, I was going for a Dom win initially but switched gears after I realized that would involve me shipping my entire army over to the other continent and I didn't feel like doing all that lol.

I feel a little stagnant now that I've seen the victory screen, Rome is the only civ I know so science/domination are really the only two win cons I've gone for, what are you suggestions for what I should try next. New maps? Different Civs? Higher difficulty?

When should I go for an early war?

I usually end up rage quitting after an early war stare ates for way too long. I've changed my strat so many times now and I'm starting to think my timing is the culprit. I go for an early war by turn 40 when I have maybe 3-6 archers and a couple of warriors but I feel like I should wait until I have Horsemen or Swordsmen first.

The Eye of the Sahara

The Richat Structure appears as a giant "bull's eye" on a plateau in Mauritania in this mosaic, composed of images captured by the OLI (Operational Land Imager) on Landsat 9 and Landsat 8 on March 5 and March 6, 2026, respectively.

The 40-kilometer-wide (25-mile-wide) structure was initially thought to be an impact crater because large meteors can produce circular features on Earth’s surface.

However, researchers later showed that it is actually a deeply eroded geologic dome formed by the uplift of rock above an underground intrusion of igneous material. Over time, differing erosion rates among rock types in the exposed upper dome led to the development of circular ridges known as cuestas.

The orange and gray colors reflect differences in sedimentary and igneous rock types across the structure and the surrounding landscape.

Saved Data

I'm a console player on Xbox. Played a game earlier today and went back this evening to load in. My console had trouble syncing my data and the game has erased all of my files from the past 4 years!

The only saved game I can play now is from 2022 and it completely erased my wins types and with specific leaders. I feel like all of the hours the last few years were wasted.

Does anyone know how to get my saved data back? Has anyone else experienced this save issue before?

Peaceful Biosphere Babylon was the most fun run I ever had in Civ 6

Hi, wanted to share my latest Deity run, probably my first turn 190 culture victory, playing as Babylon :)

I am a very "peaceful" player, can get deity wins comfortably but really dislike going for domination and war in general unless it is a defensive one. So I was putting off playing Babylon, tried once a science route but was quite rough without pillaging benefits. I know this is a civ that benefits greatly from being in war even when not going for domination, so thought maybe its not for me.

Then I had the thought of rushing biosphere, was really fun to craft a way to it and wind and solar farms with insane production and tech bonuses you unlock :) I thought of the end goal with those 3 techs (and neighborhoods to be able to build the biosphere itself) and made my way backwards to decide which boosts to get and what to follow. Mostly wanted to share in case it is unknown for those who want to try Babylon but not thrilled about using the advantage for domination.

Turned out to be an insanely enjoyable run so I recommend to everyone!
