How’s the younger crowd?

Hi r/321,

I’m a 25-year-old Electrical Engineer seriously looking at jobs on the Space Coast (most of the aerospace/defense EE roles I qualify for seem to be here). I’m excited about the work, but I’m nervous about the social side of moving here.

Everything I read makes the area sound very family- and retiree heavy. I have nothing against that at all, but as someone in my mid-20s, I’m worried it’ll be tough to meet people my age and actually build a real social/dating life.

For anyone in their 20s or early 30s who lives here now, what’s the young-professional scene actually like? Are there pockets that feel more lively for people my age? Any good areas, bars, events, groups, or activities where people in their mid-20s actually hang out?

Appreciate any honest takes and thanks in advance!
