Should I take a drop for NIMCET 2026 or join a private college like IPU?
I’m feeling pretty confused after NIMCET this year and would appreciate some honest advice.
The exam completely shocked me. I knew the paper would be tough, but I didn't expect it to be this difficult. I was able to attempt around 20 questions in Mathematics, 22 in Reasoning, and 13 in Computer Awareness.
Based on my performance, I don't think I'll get a good NIT, and now I'm stuck between two options:
Take a drop year and prepare seriously for NIMCET 2026.
Join a private college like IPU and continue my studies without losing a year.
For those who have been in a similar situation, was taking a drop worth it? Did it significantly improve your rank and opportunities? And for people studying in IPU or other private colleges, how has your experience been in terms of placements, coding culture, and overall career growth?
