Are micro influencers actually better than bigger influencers?

I’ve been looking into influencer marketing lately, and I keep seeing people say micro influencers are better because their audiences are more engaged and they feel more trusted.

That makes sense, but I’m wondering how true it is in practice. A bigger influencer gives you more reach, but a smaller creator might have followers who actually pay attention and trust their recommendations.

For anyone who has worked with micro influencers before, did they actually bring better results? Also, how do you find ones that are legit and not just full of fake engagement?
