My Mom’s Pancreatic Cancer Journey

Hi everyone,
I never thought I would post in a group like this, but the past few weeks have completely changed my family’s life.
My mother, who raised me and my siblings alone her entire life, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Morocco. Everything happened very quickly. She first started having severe abdominal pain, then became jaundiced, her eyes and skin turned yellow, and doctors discovered a tumor causing a blockage in her bile ducts.
She had to undergo an emergency procedure to place a biliary stent so her liver could function again before starting chemotherapy. After her condition stabilized a bit, she began FOLFIRINOX treatment.
Her first session was already very difficult, and after her second chemotherapy session, her immune system became extremely weak and she developed a serious infection. She was rushed back to the hospital after severe dizziness, vomiting, fainting episodes, and extreme weakness.
I’m currently in Canada doing my PhD while my family is back home in Morocco, and watching all of this happen from far away has honestly been heartbreaking.
We recently created a fundraiser to help with chemotherapy, medications, hospitalizations, and ongoing treatment costs because unfortunately many expenses are not fully covered for us in Morocco.

I hope this post is allowed. Even advice, prayers, or simply sharing her story would truly mean a lot to me and my family ❤️

My mom in Morocco was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer — I’m a student in Canada trying to help

Hi everyone,
I’m a student in Sherbrooke, Canada, while my family is back home in Morocco.
A few weeks ago, my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after multiple hospital visits and emergency procedures. The tumor blocked her bile ducts, causing severe jaundice and a lot of pain. She had to get a stent placed urgently and has now started chemotherapy.
She raised us alone her whole life, and now we’re trying to support her through this.
Healthcare in Morocco is only partially covered, and even with insurance, a lot of cancer-related expenses still have to be paid out of pocket. Between chemo, medications, hospital stays, scans, and daily expenses, things are becoming very difficult financially for my family.
I honestly never thought I would make a post like this, but I’m trying everything I can to help my mom continue her treatment.

If anyone would like to help or even just share the fundraiser, it would truly mean a lot to us.

Thank you for reading ❤️
