The people around me reinforce the idea that this world is a give and take
A simple gesture as giving a hug turns into a request. A conversation creates a new task. A act of good service turns into even more.
I know the world isn't all that but I can't keep denying it when it's all I'm face with. I can't talk with someone without anticipating what their next request is.
Even when I'm done, they ask for more then get mad when I didn't follow. I'm tired. I've become a blank slate—agreeing to them just so it could just be over.
