Hi, where would you start troubleshooting?
My BMW E46 M54B25 had a problem with unstable idle. After disconnecting the MAF sensor, it got better, so I bought a new no-name MAF sensor. After installing it, the yellow check engine light came on because of an incorrect air/fuel mixture.
Could it be caused by the fact that the MAF sensor is not a Bosch or another higher-quality brand? Where would you start?
Both lights were working before and then stopped at the same time. The dashboard shows that the trunk is open, so the trunk-open switch seems to be working. However, I measured the connector with a multimeter and couldn’t find any voltage there
Hi, I’d like to ask something.
The right license plate light on my E46 sedan wasn’t working, so I resoldered one contact and now it works again. But I don’t know what I did — whenever I close the trunk, it locks itself and the electric trunk release stops working, just like when the battery is dead.
However, I can still open it using the remote key or the lock itself. The problem is that when the car is unlocked, I still have to unlock the trunk either with the button on the key or through the lock.

On my E46 with the M54B25 engine, when I press the accelerator the RPM drops, and when I press it more, the revs fluctuate up and down quite a bit. At around 2500 RPM it stops doing it.
Diagnostics showed misfires on 4 cylinders. I’ve already ordered new ignition coils, but I’d like to ask in advance what else it could be. The pre-cat oxygen (lambda) sensor is also bad and I’ve ordered a new one, but I’m still wondering what else could cause it. Could it be the DISA valve? Wouldn’t that only cause issues at idle?
