Help: My grandmother recently started dialysis.
After my grandmother's most recent hospitalization she began doing dialysis treatments. It is a big adjustment for her especially when it comes to dieting and fluid limits and we are doing the best we can to adjust. Thankfully today I was able to speak with a renal dietitian and get more specifics on her potassium, phosphorus, sodium, fluid limits daily but I could really use some help with ideas for meals throughout the day that can both keep her happy and satisfied and within her limits. She is a big foodie and an Italian woman, which doesn't help when it comes to her cooperation with the limitations of what she can have in her diet but any help is absolutely appreciated as I try and put together some sort of regular meal plan for her moving forward. She still is able to urinate on her own and goes regularly and is also taking diuretics to help with her fluid retention as well.
