I wanted to share some ATLA fanart I've been working on for the story I'm writing, Bloom Beneath the Ash! The first is of Salia, 12, and Jaku, 13, just chatting and having a great time. Jaku is a firebender from a fire colony. ( and a yapper) Laoul, the great heron spirit that watches over Salia's tribe, stares curiously. There is definitely stuff I'm still working on with that sketch, like the perspective on Laoul's body is strange, herons are usually pretty skinny so I'll probably change that. The second image is a sketch I did of Jaku all grown up, 19. If you are interested in reading my story, here are the links!

Hi all the ATLA fans! I wanted to post here and see if anyone would be interested in reading the story I've been writing, it is an action/adventure/romance story about Salia and Jaku, two OCs I've made in the ATLA universe. These are two hand drawn sketches I've done, them as kids, Salia 12 and Jaku 13. This is the summary of the story, which is being posted on wattpad and archive of our own. (No smut!)

Salia is the princess of a water tribe, named the Izumi tribe. This magnificent place is lush with wildlife and natural springs, and is home to some of the most powerful water healers in all the world. These water benders have incredibly strong ties to the spirit world. A fire nation colony cropped up beside the Izumi tribe during the Avatar's dissapearance, no doubt awaiting the perfect moment for a siege. Fortunately, a formidable spirit has protected the Izumi tribe against Fire Nation attacks, the mighty Laoul, who takes the form of a large Great Blue Heron. Salia is now 18 years old and a remarkable healer. The revered Avatar has finally returned, and needs help contacting the spirit world. Aang, Katara, and Sokka are on their way to meet Salia and her family, when the unexpected happens. Salia is kidnapped. Aang and friends must desperately try to stop the abductor and save the princess. Salia soon finds out the identity of her captor, and it is no stranger.

His name is Jaku. He was a fire colony boy she met when she was just 12 years old.

The Izumi tribe destroyed his home. Salia betrayed him, and he never forgot.
