Do I need strict bed rest?

I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix 1.4 cm at 20 week anomaly scan. Immediately, emergency cervical cerclage was done. Was in hospital under observation for 3 days. I was advised strict bed rest (not even allowed to go to washroom, I am using bed pan till now), even sitting up in bed is not allowed. I just have to adjust my backrest pillow at 45 degree while eating. Latest ultrasound at 23w showed cervix length improved to 2 cm. Me and my husband are grateful for the cerclage and that we are able to handle this.

Currently at 26 weeks. On leave from work for the past 1.5 months. My doctor suggested that I should stay in this strict bed rest as long as possible (till 32 weeks at least for better outcomes for baby). I agree with not putting pressure on pelvis. I would do anything for my baby to reach full term and come safe and healthy into this world.

However, at the same time, not even allowing me to go to washroom (just 2 steps away from my bed) is kind of a stress for me. My family has very been supportive and I feel blessed for the same.I know I am not in a situation to roam around, dress up and enjoy my pregnancy. However, at least little privileges like going to washroom on my own, going to living room and eat at the dining table would make me feel good.

Anyone has been in similar situation? Next appointment is in a week. Should I ask the doctor about the little privileges? Or do you suggest that I don't change anything and continue to be in this strict bed rest till delivery?
