Hi everyone,
I am a Libyan national currently studying in Malaysia. I have been trying to get a Chinese tourist visa (L visa) for weeks but keep getting rejected through COVA because of my nationality.
The Chinese visa center in KL has confirmed I need an official Verification Letter of Invitation (PU letter) issued by Chinese government authorities such as the Foreign Affairs Office. I do not have any contacts in China and just want to visit Shanghai for tourism from 22 May to 1 June 2026.
I have:
• Valid Malaysian student pass
• Valid Netherlands Schengen visa until 2028
• Strong European travel history
• MM2H residency in Malaysia 2016-2021

Can anyone recommend: A reliable agency in China that can obtain this PU letter for a single tourist?
Has anyone with a restricted nationality successfully gotten a Chinese visa from Malaysia? And How long did it take and how much did it cost?
Time is very critical my flight is May 22nd.

Applying for a Chinese tourist visa from Malaysia. My online application form was unapproved 3 times with no reason given. Documents were never physically submitted.

Does this count as a visa refusal for question 8.1? Should I tick YES or NO?

Has anyone experienced this from the KL visa centre?
