From a coding and functionality point of view, what is the point of Ongoing cards temporarily being disabled while they are moved or locations beneath them are swapped?

AITA for kicking my girlfriend's husband out of our basement?

So three hours ago my girlfriend’s husband started a new hobby, board games. We were actually happy for him at first because we figured it would at least distract him at night so he’d stop sitting in the corner of our room watching us have intimacy.

But it all escalated quickly. We heard some noise coming from the basement where I let him live, and went down to check on him. Somehow, he already owned four entire shelves of board games. The boxes looked cool, so we asked if maybe we could all play something together. He snapped and said "Those are not for playing, morons." When I tried to examine one of the boxes, he almost physically attacked me, screaming that I wasn't allowed to touch them with my "filthy hands."

When we asked where he even got the money for all of this, he admitted he spent the entire college savings fund for his and my girlfriend’s son. We were absolutely furious, but talking to him in that state was impossible.

We left the basement to figure out what to do, when we suddenly heard a loud thud. We rushed back down and found my stepson on the floor. Turns out the boy was so mesmerized by the collection that he wanted to try one, but the Frosthaven box accidentally fell from the top shelf right onto his head. The boy was unconscious, his head was bleeding, and right next to him was my girlfriend's husband, crying hysterically.

My girlfriend immediately called an ambulance. While she was on the phone, I screamed at the guy, asking why he hadn't called ambulance asap. He looked up at me and said he was crying because the Frosthaven box was now deformed and covered in blood, meaning the game experience was completely ruined for him.

That was the final straw. I told him to pack his remaining unpunched cardboard and get the hell out of my house. AITA for kicking him out?
