Looking for advice — POIS symptoms and treatment
Hi everyone, I believe I have POIS and I’m trying to figure out what I can do to manage the symptoms.
After ejaculation, I regularly experience:
left-sided abdominal/flank pain, sometimes under the left ribs
severe bloating and gas
nausea and loss of appetite
headaches
anxiety and mood changes
heavy sweating
fatigue
The symptoms can start the next day, and sometimes even 2–4 days after ejaculation. When I don’t ejaculate, I feel completely normal.
For those of you who have been diagnosed with POIS:
What treatment or strategies have actually helped reduce your symptoms? What do you do when an episode starts? And what type of doctor did you see (urologist, allergist/immunologist, gastroenterologist, etc.)?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if you had digestive symptoms and left-sided abdominal pain like me.

I have a problem that happens almost every time after ejaculation.
After ejaculation, I may initially feel a strange sensation, but then pain develops, mainly in my left flank / underneath my left ribs. It used to start around 30 minutes to 1 hour after ejaculation, but now it can sometimes start the next day or even 2–4 days later.
When the episode happens, I also experience:
a lot of bloating and gas;
a feeling of a large lump/pressure in my left side;
nausea;
loss of appetite;
severe headaches;
anxiety and mood changes;
heavy sweating;
fatigue, mainly because of the pain.
The pain can last for several hours, sometimes the entire day. After a night of sleep, I can feel completely normal again.
The strangest thing is that when I don’t ejaculate, I don’t have these symptoms.
I’m trying to find out whether anyone has experienced left-sided abdominal/flank pain and digestive symptoms triggered by ejaculation. I’ve seen people mention digestive problems, trapped gas, the colon, or bile acids, but I don’t know whether any of these could be related.
And honestly, this situation is destroying me mentally. The pain and not knowing what is happening to me sometimes give me suicidal thoughts. I’m really at my limit and would like to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar and eventually found the cause.
I’m not looking for a Reddit diagnosis, just similar experiences or serious leads that I can discuss with a doctor.

For many years, I’ve had recurring pain on the left side of my abdomen/flank. It used to last a short time, but recently it can last an entire day. The strange thing is that the pain is consistently triggered or significantly worsened after ejaculation.
The discomfort starts shortly after ejaculation with a noticeable sensation in the left side, then develops into stronger pain. I also often experience bloating, trapped gas, and constipation. During bad episodes, I can feel nauseous and get headaches.
The pain is always on the left side and never on the right. I have already seen doctors and had medical evaluations, but nothing significant was found.
Has anyone experienced:
Left-sided abdominal/flank pain after ejaculation?
Pain associated with constipation or trapped gas that gets worse after orgasm?
Pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, POIS, or another diagnosis that caused similar symptoms?
What diagnosis did you eventually receive, and what helped?
