Improving skills

Hey Trackmania racers and fans,
hope you’re all doing well :)

This question has probably been asked a million times already in this subreddit, but I feel like becoming better at the game is one of the main goals for most players besides just having fun.
I’ve searched online a lot for training maps, tips, campaigns, tricks, and all that stuff, but I keep running into the same recommendations over and over again. And honestly, I haven’t really found many maps or campaigns where I genuinely feel like I’m improving effectively.

Usually I just play through a campaign, finish it, and that’s it. I don’t really feel like my actual skill level improves that much from doing that alone.

Of course I know that the best way to improve is simply by playing a lot, gaining experience over time, and naturally getting better. But I still want the feeling that I’m actively doing something to improve instead of just waiting and hoping skill comes with time. I hope you understand what I mean.

To give you an idea of where I’m currently at:
I’ve probably got around 100 hours in the game (maybe a bit less, maybe more), and I’ve been playing for around 10 months now. In the current Spring 2026 campaign I’m around world rank 2900. I honestly don’t know if that’s considered good or not, but for me personally, after only 10 months, I’m pretty happy with it.

Still, I want to become way better.

I want to become more consistent, learn how to find racing lines by myself, and get comfortable on all the different surfaces and styles like ice, dirt, grass, etc. I basically just want to improve overall and feel like I’m actively working towards that.

So yeah, I’d really appreciate any advice, map recommendations, training methods, or personal experiences that helped you improve a lot.

Looking forward to reading your replies.
Have a great day everyone :)
