Top 7% but low SAT score - how much does it hurt for engineering?

Hii! I’m planning to submit my application for Fall 2027. I’m an in-state and currently in the top 10% of my class, but my SAT score isn’t that high.

Does having a sat score around 1300 hurt my chances a lot for engineering? My math score would be around 760 or high, but my reading&writing score is really bad because English isn’t my first language.

Thank you! I’d really appreciate any advice.

Chance me for Engineering Fall 2027

Major
General Engineering (Electrical Engineering)

Student Status
in-state

Class Rank
Probably around 30/450 (top 7%) I think because when I had a 3.98(weighted) I was in top 11%
So at least I’m in the top 10%

GPA
3.94 (UW/4.0 scale), 4.21 (W/5.0 scale))

My GPA is a bit lower because I moved to the U.S. in the second semester of 9th grade and wasn’t familiar with the U.S. school system
My 9th grade gpa was a 3.6 🥲

Standardized Test Scores
SAT score: 1400 (760 M, 640 V)

Additional Coursework

10th grade
- Onramps college algebra (A)

11th grade
- AP computer science principle (5)
- AP english language and composition (5)
- AP pre-calculus (5)
- AP U.S. history (score withheld)
- Onramps physics (A)

12th grade
- AP Calculus AB (I may take BC instead if my teacher gets approved to teach it, since my school doesn’t currently offer BC.)
- AP psychology
- Onramps economics
- Onramps english
- Onramps (something science)

Extracurricular Activities
- NHS (11th-12th)
- Tennis team (11th-12th)
- Golf (10th-12th)
- 30 volunteer hours (I know it’s not much)

Honors and Awards
- 1st place in the district golf tournament (10th and 11th)

I think my class rank is the only strong part of my application.
I’d really appreciate any thoughts on my chances. Thanks!
