PC suddenly turns on for a split second and immediately shuts off – CPU LED flashes
Hey everyone, I could really use some help with my PC.
Yesterday it was working perfectly normally. I shut it down, and about 2 hours later I switched off the power strip. Since today, whenever I press the power button, the PC lights up for a split second and immediately shuts off again. The RAM RGB stays on, and the CPU debug LED briefly lights up.
Specs:
• Intel Core i9-14900KF
• Gigabyte Z790 AORUS PRO X WIFI7
• Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5080 XTREME WATERFORCE 16G
• 32 GB RAM
• be quiet! Dark Power 13 PSU
• Windows 11 Pro
What I’ve tried so far:
• Reseated/checking power cables
• Checked CPU P8 power connections
• Tested RAM sticks separately
• Tried starting without GPU power
• Cleared CMOS
• Disconnected/reconnected cables
•. RAM training for 15 min
Nothing has changed — still just a quick flash and immediate shutdown.
Does this look more like a PSU, motherboard, or CPU problem? Any ideas for tests I can safely do without having another PSU available would be really appreciated!
