My first wrestling season & what i learned

Alright so i'm 17 my pre-season stats where 6'0 220 now im 6'0 193 lbs and my first wrestling season just concluded with the school year and i have learned a lot about combat sports and stuff. Firstly how you fuel your body matters WAY more then i thought. I previously thought food is food as long as i am eating what i should and i am losing the weight i want it dont really matter but when i ate like junk people who i previously had no issue beating became alot tougher and my energy went way down, but while eating clean i could go live for longer and i could move much better, and put together moves without having to think as hard. Something i under estimated though was the cardio, later into the season it got much easier but just starting off was damn near hell, a humid, hot ass room gasping for air while my head is spinning. Something else is you really lose the ego and fear of losing, starting off i was worried about getting beat in sparring but as the year goes on i learned that losing is apart of the sport. Lastly the one thing that blew ass through the whole year was spin drills, it doesnt matter how fueled up i was, how good i wrestled, no matter what i had planned after practice, Hearing those damned words "Pick a partner where doing spin drills" could put that to a stop instantly
