Segregated 😢 but on a more serious note...
I was playing jester and they proved my point once again immediately, for the third time. But ye, I'm gonna make a more serious post now.
Some of the people and music fans here get so fixated on their hatred of a certain artist and their fans's method of raising concerns and pressuring for better change, that they are ok with horrible decisions, that are misguided at best and racist at worst.
They prove that for some people, as long as they can keep their own hobby and passion space crystal clean, they don't mind abusing their power to segregate discussions, no matter how important the topic is in general.
They don't care about real world issues happening in their territory as long as it doesn't affect their own preferred artists, no matter race and geographic location.
This was one of the rare situations in which the core fandom was not the only ones that trying to push this conversation forward everywhere for a meaningful change. Most major news outlets, your fav music commentators, music reactors and youtubers have been one by one putting out their own thoughts and participate in the discussion until a few days ago.
THAT IS NOT PROBLEMATIC BEHAVIORS OR JUSTIFIABLE REASONS FOR SEGREGATION OF CATEGORIES OR DISCUSSIONS.
But yes, people keep citing these 'annoying' behaviors as justifiable causes, because they can't for the lives of them see the big picture and bring themselves to care and engage in a meaningful way.
Major changes come with big movements and the messiness of it all, but it's very clear some people are not equipped to handle this discussions. No wonder these institutions never feel the need to change their behaviors, no matter how many times different artists from different backgrounds raise concerns about it.
Not until very extreme methods of communication have to be resorted to, and still, you guys complain about THIS BEING ANNOYING TO YOU only.
I said my piece. Mod, you can remove this also if this discussion about the institution is too much for you.
