Could Ella Langley be the third person to win the big 4?

Now, I will preface this by saying that I am not an Ella Langley fan and am not glazing and stanning; I am considering genuine possibilities. Ella has been achieving massive success, so much so that the Grammys changed their rules, pretty much just for her. She seems like a really strong contender for BNA and with the abundance of pop releases this Grammy season, it’s possible for her works to sneak through to the SOTY, ROTY, and AOTY categories. I don’t know, this was just a random thought that I had and I wanted to know what you guys thought about it.

Does Slayyyter have a chance at the 2027 Grammys?

Coming from the PC music landscape and venturing her way into a Tumblr-esque Electronic Rock album, Slayyyter has seen unprecedented success this year with her latest album WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA.

Not only does she have a TikTok hit, her popularity has definitely surged after her Coachella performance, her album is getting 1.4M daily on spotify, almost half of it's initial debut streams 3 months after release. She has gone from 1.5M to 8M monthly listeners as well

My hopes are Best New Artist & Best Dance/Electronic Album/Recording. It would be fitting to give DANCE... best Dance recording.

What are your thoughts?

Katseye at the 2027 Grammys

With the hype behind Katseye still rolling I honestly believe that they’ll get nominated in best pop duo or best dance recording.

Specifically pop duo for iconic by mistake and best dance pop for pinky up

Or I’m being delusional

Madonna deserves AOTY

It’s insane that she’s never won it and it’d be an insane story for her finally to win at 67. But most importantly, this album deserves it on quality alone. It’s her best album in over two decades. It’s more exciting to me than Olivia’s album. She truly deserves it.

Why is this page so adamant about western artist being more valid and authentic than Asians?

Look I don't care if this gets downvotes or anything reddit isn't my life. I am just shocked that people actually believe Olivia is bigger than BTS ? Taylor swift, Justin Bieber on a worldwide level I agree. The general public knows them by heart, their popularity has reached each and every corner of the globe but I just had an argument about Olivia fans I guess who believes she is more big/loved (English is my 3/4th language, I don't know what word to use properly here) than BTS. Sorry but no she was trending on TikTok with driver song 1 time but that's it.

Early reactions for Madonna - Confessions II are very positive

Per ATRL

"I'm absolutely floored. Motha really did that. Probably her best album since American Life to be honest. It's a bloody masterpiece. Fragile had me having a nervous breakdown it really hit home for me. For me this album is more Erotica 2.0 than Confessions II. The later half of the record really goes in an incredible musical direction. Very ROL. She really deserves all the accolades. The Grammys better give it up to her because her and Stuart created something truly special."

"Everything is everything I wanted to hear from her in years 🔥😭😍"

"The whole album is a collapse and three quarters whew mamadonna you did it"

"The production is RICH, really amazing! its such a rewarding moment after several messily mixed albums"

"Bring Your Love makes total sense as a single. You can call it generic but all the other songs are too personal or way too "experimental" for the radio. Only Bizarre would work."

"Danceteria should've been the lead single!"

"OMFG , BIZARRE IS OUT OF THIS PLANET , IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!!"

"This is giving 85 on Metacritic babes"

"Oh, Warner, the label you are to mother Madonna…. I LOVE how dark and weird she gets in the second half of the album, it's the best part for me. lol. Now THIS is the Madonna I fell in love with and the Madonna that I've always loved. We did it, girls, no more pretending she released a good album. This is VERY VERY good."

"not trying to jump the gun... but this is way more consistent for me than COADF1 is"

"The fact that mother is almost 70 years old and she's still able to deliver such a strong body of work for the girlies who love to dance is so BITCH"

"is this album actually good or is it Madonna fans creaming the dancefloor? - It's actually good, the production is slick and pack an actual punch that I didn't see in the singles, even Love Sensation sounds SO MUCH PUNCHIER and atmospheric, and this is coming from a Little Monster who didn't really like her last 3 albums."

"Pieces of ROL, erotica, American life, confessions I, music without rehashing old ideas. This album is actually a masterpiece. The cool down on the last quarter has such intricate production. LES girl actually made me cry, idk if she's ever sounded quite like this on a track? School is impressive instant's cunty older sister. I'm blown away completely."

My AOTY predictions

I’d like to start this off with this is what I predict will be nominated and win not what I necessarily want to win. If I don’t predict an album as getting a nom it does not mean I dislike it, just means I don’t predict it to be nominated.

AOTY

  1. LUX- Rosalia ( maybe a unpopular opinion but this album performed the best critically and did well commercially alongside the tour)

    1. YSPSFAGSIL- Olivia Rodrigo ( definitely a top contender)
  2. AM I THE DRAMA? - Cardi B ( also a unpopular opinion but did super well commercially and I think it’s unrealistic to assume all the noms will be pop)

  3. THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE - RAYE ( although not the biggest here commercially or critically WIMH did well as a hit single and the album created buzz)

  4. Dandelion- Ella Langley ( album performed well and Choosin’ Texas performed very well on the charts and overall a succesful country album)

  5. The Art of Loving - Olivia Dean ( I could one hundred percent see this winning it seems to be the “ safest” option carried with critical acclaim commercial success and a lead single )

  6. The Romantic - Bruno Mars ( Huge name. Easy nom definitely will not win. )

  7. The Great Divide - Noah Kahan ( Maybe a bit obscure pick but an overall good album and adds diversity to the list)

Maybes:

TLOASG- Taylor Swift ( it’s Taylor so could definitely get her a nom but one of her weakest albums)

Petal- Ariana Grande ( Could one hundred percent see this nominated but it’s way to early to even predict it as a nominee)

AIRIRANG- BTS ( Although I don’t think this will be nominated it was very successful and might score a nom but didn’t create much buzz outside the fandom )

Probably not:

Visitor- Sienna Spiro ( I see a lot of potential in this album but unfortunately she’s not popular enough to likely score a nom)

Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally- Harry Styles ( very weak album carried by his fanbase but a possible nom)

Olivia Rodrigo - AOTY & SOTY

Okay, so Olivia Rodrigo’s album? It’s seriously good.

I know music hits different for everyone, but hers just has everything. The writing’s sharp, the songs are catchy as hell, and there’s not a single skip. It’s got the big radio hits, but also those quiet tracks that just wreck you in the best way.

But honestly? What I love most is how it feels. You put it on and suddenly you’re 17 again, falling in love, getting your heart broken, dancing in your room. It makes you feel all the messy, happy, sad stuff and isn’t that the whole point of music?

So yeah. AOTY-worthy? 100%. Olivia really did her thing with this one. THE CURE - soty.

it's just for me. We have different taste anyway.

2027 Grammy General Field winner predictions (June 2026 edition)

AOTY: The Art of Loving - Olivia Dean
Zach Nahome, producer; TBA on Grammy nominations day this November 16, engineers/mixers; Olivia Dean, Bastian Langebæk & Max Wolfgang, songwriters; Simon Francis, mastering engineer
Runner-up: You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love - Olivia Rodrigo

ROTY: The Fate of Ophelia - Taylor Swift
Max Martin, Shellback & Taylor Swift, producers; Bryce Bordone, Serban Ghenea, Lasse Mårtén, Max Martin & Shellback, engineers/mixers; Randy Merrill, mastering engineer
Runner-up: Man I Need - Olivia Dean

SOTY: WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! - RAYE
Runner-up: The Fate of Ophelia - Taylor Swift

Best New Artist: Ella Langley
Runner-up: Sienna Spiro

Thoughts and explanation:

AOTY - With 9 weeks left in the 2027 Grammy eligibility period, AOTY race seems to be the race between the two Olivias. While I do love both The Art of Loving and You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, I have Olivia Dean winning AOTY where she also takes Pop Vocal Album. This is reminiscent of 2023 Harry/2024 Taylor. Olivia Rodrigo should win, but it all depends if Phoebe Bridgers get nominated with her upcoming album Lost Weekend because this would lead to rock and alternative vote splitting.

ROTY - It remains to be a showdown between the two biggest hits: The Fate of Ophelia and Man I Need. The former is still leading despite having 10 weeks at number one on Billboard Hot 100. Taylor Swift is definitely going for 2024 Miley Cyrus route winning ROTY and Pop Solo Performance. Man I Need could win, but Olivia Dean still needs to deal with R&B and Jazz vote splitting between her, RAYE, and Bruno Mars. Taylor could totally get not just pop votes, but also some country, dance, EDM, producers & engineers votes given that Max Martin is the former Producer of the Year Grammy winner. It’s more likely that the NARAS will spread the wealth so Taylor and OD will get 2 televised wins each. After luther by Kendrick Lamar & SZA won ROTY this year despite going 13 weeks at the top of Hot 100, it seems plausible that the Grammys will reward ROTY to a song that went ten or more weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for second straight Grammy season.

SOTY - It seems to be a wide open race like it’s anyone ball game. Expect a Record/Song GF split for 2nd straight year.

Best New Artist - Ella Langley is my top choice to win BNA with Sienna Spiro and Geese in top 3.

Overall: The 2027 Grammys GF winners could be similar to 2024 Grammys.

Are we underestimating Madonna - Confessions II?

So I just finished Madonna x Graham Norton special interview - what an amazing episode! And it hit me, this is the best reception Madonna has had in a very very long while. Madonna is cool to like again, and she returns to Confessions which everybody loved (Hung Up, Sorry). She is really the queen of dance floor. And Warner Bros has been promoting the album brilliantly (Sabrina Carpenter Collab, Grindr partnership, Graham Norton interview, etc) This album is Madonna's big comeback to Warner Bros after all.

Madonna should be a very strong contender in Dance Pop categories (Song/ Album) right? Kylie Minogue managed to win a Grammy with Padam Padam. Will Grammy show love for Madonna this season? Anyway I think she should be on the radar and appear in more predictions!
