Pidgins nesting

I just got home from vacation to find that the cat tower I left outside on my second floor balcony has become a home to two pidgins. I saw them carrying sticks into the hidey hole and am assuming they are building a nest.

Anything I can do to help them be successful? Anything I 100% should not do?

I also have two cats (5yo and 3mo) I obviously won’t be letting them on the balcony but is it ok to let them watch through the glass door?

What is this coloration called?

The title says it all. I am in awe of this pigeon and need to know (IF i decide to one day get a pigeon) how to look for a bird like this on adoption websites etc.

Why Grass Red

I am absolutely obsessed with this red grass (maybe bush) it seems to be along one stretch of Galitan Road and mostly on Fawn Pass Trailhead and I must know if the reason it is red is because of minerals seeping from some kind of natural hot spring (they make rocks red so why not plants?) or if it is the type of grass. Please enlighten me.
