3 odd motorcycle questions.

3 odd motorcycle questions.

Some of this is gonna sound very contradictory 😅, so I apologize ahead of time.

I'm deadset on the rebel 300 or 500 being my first and potentially forever bike (looking at 2024 atm). I love how it looks, how quiet it is compared to others, and so much more.

  1. However, i only drive a 2015 Colorado (had since new and love it) and i drive fire engines and ambulances for a living (fireman). That being said, I'm a bit intimidated by being in a significantly smaller vehicle than I'm used to. Is that easy to get over? Some of you may understand my trepidation riding I-55 Chicago suburbs on a small vehicle 😅.

  2. Also, i LOVE audiobooks. Is it possible to listen to one set a reasonable volume (already have tinnitus don't need it worse) while riding with headphones and a helmet?

  3. Finally, how's the braking power on the ABS? I don't intend to drive more than 60-70 mph or for longer than an hour to commute.

If you read this far, thank you! And I value any and all feedback i can get!

First time buyer, how to negotiate at dealership.

Updated!

I'm strongly considering buying a Honda Rebel 300 E-clutch as a first motorcycle. I've done a fair bit of research, but I'm not sure what would be considered a good deal when it comes to buying one from a dealership. If the MSRP is $5,300, what would be a resonable discount?

UPDATE: I've been carefully considering what everyone has said, thank you by the way 😄, and I decided it is a dumb idea to buy a new one.

Instead, I'm now looking at Honda Rebel 2024 300/500. There was an EXCELLENT point to buy a used one not only as a first bike, but one that's broken in so the things likely to fail would've been fixed by the dealership or the original owner.
