i am really considering getting a pet snail, but is there a certain type that is best for first timers? i know that a lot of people catch their own snails, but should i look for a certain type to start with? are bigger snails easier than small ones?

basically how i found him was that it just rained outside and the sun was up and i thought 'hey, i can go on a walk and find some snails!!' lucky me, once i opened the door, it started raining again lol, and i was walking around with an umbrella and found a bench on the sidewalk path and saw this little guy just in his shell chilling on the bench, and i didn't want to disturb him so i just went around the path loop. once i came back to the bench, it was downpouring and i went to see if he was still there.... AND HE WAS MOVING!!! HE IS ADORABLE, HE HAS TINY EYE STALKS, TINY FEELERS, TINY TINY TINYYY EVERYTHING !!!
ever since i learned how cute snails are ive been desperately trying to find one, and i got lucky today!!!

i like to collect stamps, but i don't know if it would be considered rude to take the stamps off of the postcards i recieve. i've never done it before, so just wondering before i attempt to do it if it's something considered controversial here? i might be overthinking but i want to be sure lol

for context, it's my dream to own emerald roaches one day and i love bugs but have never been able to get over my fear of roaches.
i dont even know why, i like a lot of different bugs, but roaches? no matter how much i try to look at them the way i see other bugs, i just see them and think they are gross :( i dont want to be grossed out by them!! i want to be able to have a positive correlation to them instead of associating them with dirty gross things.
i find a lot of bugs to be cute as well so it doesn't make sense to me why i dont like them.
i'd love any ideas on how to deal with this !!

this pisses me off so fucking much. snails do NOT HAVE ANTENNA ON THEIR HEAD. THOSE ARE THE SNAIL'S GODDAMN EYES.
we cannot keep spreading this snail propaganda.
especially since snails actually have a set of eyes up top and then a lower set of feeler antennas below to FEEL THINGS. WHICH EVERYONE ALWAYS FORGETS ABOUT.
we are slowly going to give snails body dysmorphia if we keep this up. STOP NORMALIZING THESE SNAILS!!! SNAILS ARE SOON GOING TO GET SURGERY TO MOVE THEIR EYES ONTO THEIR BODIES AND TO CUT OFF THEIR FEELERS. THIS IS FUTURE SNAIL MUTILATION. SNAILS CAN BE UGLY AND ITS OK!!!
