I caved…

Visited the Costa Mesa boutique to look at another model, but these caught my eye in the case and had to try them on. Not what I intended to pickup, but I have a weakness for unusual meta frames, I guess, as I also spontaneously picked up a set of Senna’s from London.

I was swayed by the unique metal / clear acetate combo look, and the weight and fit are nice. I was also surprised by the lens tint which is pretty extreme and best described as neon green.

I guess I’m drawn to models and colors that stand out, which this does. No regrets (yet)!

New iPad Pro - high-pitched hum periodically

Just got this new iPad Pro about a week ago. Started to notice periodically is emits a high pitched whine, nearly ultrasonic. Took a while to figure out it was the iPad but it definitely is, and it tends to happen with certain events like

- starting text input
- typing text

It goes away if I put it into sleep mode or don’t interact for a while. It’s very binary - immediately on and then immediately off. It seems to emit specifically from the top right-side speaker.

Not charging, near full battery, hasn’t been damaged in any way.

Is this defective? Is AppleCare going to be willing to replace it for this?

Searched online and couldn’t find any similar experiences. Anyone else heard of this?
