Any John Cena/wrestling fans here?

I just started Teach You a Lesson and it is really good so far. The vibe is like Weak Hero x the Glory.

The most amusing thing to me however s how much Kim Mu-yeol and John Cena look alike. I know John Cena recently posted something on instagram gram that got a lot of attention. But it’s not just the looks, it’s also the ML’s bravado and over the top fight scenes.

Am I weird? Anyone else see it?

Is Park Bo-young’s Gold Land safe for the heart?

Yo! I am back. Took a brief hiatus from kdrama. Spent some time reading relationship stories on Reddit (oh, the drama) and watched a little Ashes to Crown (spoiler alert, it’s not Pursuit of Jade).

I decided on Gold Land. I’ve also recently dusted off my cardio machines. So I started Gold Land on my elliptical today and the time went by quickly. When I was done, I realized not only did the time go by more quickly but my pace was fast and average heart rate higher. So I tease in the title, but do you think a triller is better than a romcom or melodrama for working out?

Edited to add
TLDR: 🇰🇷📺 + 🏃=💪?

I Feel Like My Royal Nemesis Has Dethroned Perfect Crown In One Area

Few months ago I predicted that Perfect Crown would generate a huge amount of posts, and it did. What I didn’t anticipate was that it would fade and be replaced so quickly. Looking through my feed I could not help noticing all the My Royal Nemesis posts. I thought it would be fun to make a collage of all the posts for the last 2 days. Well that didn’t pan out so well. My app only allows me to include 15 photos. In fact, even 2 collages was not enough. Rough count, there were more than 45 posts last 2 days.

Which one of these 90s star’s career has the greatest longest longevity? And did you foresee it back then?

I personally feel that Gwen Stefani stayed relevant the longest and had the least dramatic change over time. Which is surprising to me given their respective popularity and genre back then.

Results on How You Take Your KDrama is in! As well as the poll about polls.

The results are in regarding to 2 questions I recently posed.

  1. In regards to How Do You Take Your KDramas, the result shows the majority of participants are bingers. Now, after reviewing the comments, another category should have probably been included. The sporadic spontaneous viewer. Given group C outnumber all other groups combined, I don't think I would have made much of a difference.

  2. In regards whether y'all like to see more polls/participate in polls...that is more debatable. I had set a goal of 200 participants and 100 upvotes. The number of participants at the time of poll closing was..🥁🥁🥁..exactly 200. That is just crazy, I didn't think we would hit it up until the last minute. The statistical break down, 3.2K viewed the post, 200 participated, 15 upvotes (89.5% of votes), which equates to 15:2 up votes to down votes. I feel like that can be taken as low interest.

I was going to follow up with a 2nd question, based on your preferred viewing patterns if it is easier for you to move on after a drama, are you more likely to go through withdrawals. But given the lackluster results I think I will just leave it at that.

The poll was fun for me, thanks to all the participated. Hope some of you had fun too.

Looking into the Future, Which Drama Are You Looking Forward To?

I was checking out some of the dramas releasing later this year and I have to say Disney is really bringing it. Here are a few that caught my eye. Do you have any on your watch list that you are looking forward to?

Portraits of Delusion (Disney +). Img1
With my girl Suzy, Kim Seon Ho and my boy Su Ho, Choi Hyun Wook. Enough said for me.

Remarried Empress (Disney +). Img2
Another historic, fantasy that will likely get hyped like Perfect Crown. Shin Min Ah and Lee Jong Suk. I will likely get sucked in.

A Shop for Killers, Season 2 (Disney +)
I guess this is the sign I have been waiting for to watch season 1. img3

The East Palace (Netflix)
Also looked intriguing it’s a dark supernatural fantasy. Not normally my thing.

And finally, this won’t be out until 2027 but Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. The names of the cast (img 4) got me excited. Mun Ka Young, Choi Woo Shik, Heo Nam Jun, and Gong Seung Yeon.

Looking through the dramas was almost as fun as watching a drama. At least you can’t be disappointed.

How Do You Take You KDrama?

Hello, hello.

First off I would like to express how much I love the vibe of this sub. Such a chill atmosphere. Today for your polling pleasure, I got a 2 for 1 special.

  1. First item, I want to see how y’all like to watch your dramas, a little at a time or all at once, or somewhere in between. If you choose to participate, please remember your selection. I will have a follow up poll at the conclusion of this one, maybe. It all depends on the amount of interest. Polling will close in 4 days.
  2. That takes us to our 2nd item. I want to know if y’all like seeing, participating in polls. So by show of up upvotes and downvotes. Pleases let me know if you would like to see more polls. That’s right. I am inviting you to downvote me if you don’t want to see any more polls. I just may regret this 🫣*.* That’s just how curious I am.

Benchmark let’s aim for 200 participants and 100 upvotes. Anything less I will take as low to no interest.

Gong Seung Yeon Stole the Show on IU and BWS’s Crowning Drama

Closing the book on Perfect Crown and I wanted to get one last post in. Gong Seung Yeon was so wonderful in this drama. Her character took me through the gambit of emotions from despise to sympathy.

The support cast was outstanding, wished they had more to work with.

PERFECT POLL. As we say good bye to Perfect Crown I have put together an exit poll.

Wow time flies. Roughly 6 weeks ago I had a pair of posts. One, asking if the number of Perfect Crown posts will be over or under 100. I think we can all agree it has exceeded that mark easily. Two, I posted a poll on your expectation or state of mind going into this drama. ENTRY POLL

Now that we are at the end of this journey, I wanted to get your thoughts about the drama but also the hype/coverage of it? I have also generated a new poll. The poll only allows for 6 options so if you don’t see a choice that fits your sentiment leave a comment. *show of up votes if you like polls*

I enjoyed it drama. I had no expectations going it and I found it entertaining. The main pair was good but I loved the supporting cast and they continue to deliver in the penultimate episode. I still have to watch the last episode, 🙏 wrap this baby up nicely. Overall it was a fun ride. It wasn't the best drama of the year but it was nice to see it generated so much interest and many colorful discussions. It’s a nice fairy tale with great visuals kind of fitting for Disney. As the show winds down I see the baton is being passed to My Royal Nemesis.

Any bets on which gets more love, MRN or PC?

Just Finished Bon Appétit, Your Majesty While waiting for episodes of My Royal Nemesis to drop. So similar yet so different.

*image: Kang Hyun-joo (My Royal Nemesis) vs. King Ye Heon (Bon Appétit, Your Majesty)*

I finally got around to finishing the last 3 episodes of Bon Appétit and while those episodes were good, the drama as a whole fell short for me. As I was watching the last episode it struck me, how similar it is to another drama I just started, My Royal Nemesis.

Both are rom-coms involving time travel/transmigration with a tyrannical, arrogant ruler. However, I am loving My Royal Nemesis so much more. For me, the mains are more interesting and relatable, even though we are just in just 2 episodes. The pacing is brisk. And the humor hits its mark better.

I realize there is a difference between the direction of time travel and one doing the traveling. It does affect the dynamics a bit. I just enjoy the premise of My Royal Nemesis more. What y’all think?

Maybe one day we can have a feisty female chaebol go back to the Joseon era. *Sung Hui Ju anyone?*

Finally Got Around to Finishing Bon Appétit, My Majesty. Here are my thoughts and interested in getting yours.

I started Bon Appétit when it was released. I love time travel drama. But as the series progressed I gradually lost interest (waiting for episodes to drop didn’t help). It just felt repetitive and there wasn’t much excitement. I wasn’t sure if it was a rom-com or a slow burn romance. I didn’t hate it but kind of just fizzled out for me. It’s funny I stopped at episode 10 so close to end.

Time travel to the present. I figure I will finish some series I have on hold while waiting for episodes to drop on the more recent series, Perfect Crown and, coincidentally enough, My Royal Nemesis another Joseon Era related transmigration drama.

So I finished it. The last 2-3 episodes are definitely the most meaningful if not the best of the series. I feel like that should have been the identity of the drama. There was more emotion and passion between the characters, not just the main couple, than in the entire drama. I would have enjoyed the drama more if this was more the tone through out the drama. Some of the earlier content was a little over the top and the humor kind of missed its mark or felt off with the pacing of the drama.

With My Royal Nemesis, Consort Kang (*different evil Consort Kang, I had to look up names of characters*) plays a similar role to the King. Kind of over the top, tyrannical figure. But it works for me. They made her relatable and the humor works better. I loved it from the start and want more.

How ya’ll feel about it either drama and/or how the compare?

I just finished In Your Radiant Season and was so pleasantly surprised. It’s been relatively lowkey compared with some of the other releases this year. However for me, it may be the best one I’ve watched of the 2026 batch and easily my favorite drama on Disney.

It just grabbed me from the start and never let go. It’s a heart warming, funny, great cast/characters and secondary storyline are interesting. I know some characterized it as a slow burn but it didn’t feel that way to me.

Couple possible criticisms are the use of recycle scenes were a bit much and FL was a bit wishy-washy. I understand her mindset and perhaps if the drama were a few episodes longer they could developed her position changes more subtly.

Overall, I loved the drama. It’s as cute as the little animations.

*anyone have suggestions on what to watch next*
