Platform(s): PC
Genre: Horror
Estimated year of release: Between 2000 and 2010 (possibly mid 2010 too)
Graphics/art style: first-person point and click with gritty, sometimes bloody, pre-rendered 3D graphics
Notable characters: the monster design was absolutely creepy, almost like you'd find on Halloween masks (which could've been the theme)
Notable gameplay mechanics: You could sometimes hide, and it had minigames, I believe?
Other details:
I've been desperately trying to find this game, and I'm wondering if it wasn't a fever dream, or if it actually existed, so I'm going to try my luck here. Apologies if I'm missing some details, but it's very vague, and it's been at least 10+ years
- As far as I remember, it was released around Halloween: I remember that because at the end, when you finish the game, it would say "Happy Halloween".
- Graphics were gritty, pre-rendered 3d graphics, and not 2d or colourful or anything like that. It was very gruesome in parts.
- At the end, the protagonist would "die" and would show us the guy's head completely skinned or something along those lines. It could've been a bad ending, but I don't know. Also, the police were outside the house, but I'm not 100% sure of this detail.
- There was a section of the game where you'd have to hide, and before hiding, you'd talk to someone who was almost dying. I don't remember if it was a bathroom, a bedroom, or a torture room. You would also do a small minigame, or the monster would find you.
- I believe it had "Monster" in the name, or at least something close to it, but I can't remember. I also think the creator made 2 games with a similar style, which had really creepy monster design.
- I've tried several games already, like Monster Basement, Killerscape, Exmortis, the House, Inculcation, and so on, but none were what I believe was the game I'm searching for.
