How is the pacing and prose? (fantasy)

This is a little side project from my main one, just a little fun. It would probably be a children’s book, or at least YA. I’m wondering how the prose is, as well as pacing. Where did I lose your interest? Is it too fast? Choppy? I know there’s a bit of telling in there, but does it work as a style of prose or is it novice? Any and all criticism is appreciated!

Something Fantasy, like the hobbit

I really like cool worldbuilding, as well as a lot of adventure and side plots rather than just a straightforward plot. Sort of like the Hobbit, the Witcher (short story ones) or Six of Crows. I like variety in a story, a journey. I also really like the prose of the hobbit, so any books withe that prose is good!

I'm on a writers block, so I decided to summarize my first two chapters in art, as well as practicing my digital drawing (since I typically only draw on paper) This is what I have so far, it's not the best but it sure is fun. The next drawing will be mountains in the distance, then a little girl staring at the moon through a golden gilded window.

Perhaps not the prettiest, but it was quite fun to make. It’s inspired by Tolkien’s artwork.

I enjoy making fairytale-este stories on the side of my main novel, and I’m wondering if this prose works? Is it too wordy? Is it boring? Any criticism at all is greatly appreciated!
