Are tricksters as common as people make them out to be?

Hey guys, I've been getting a lot of flack lately from family members thinking that I'm working with trickster spirits or something akin to "demons" and that any Heka that I do has negative repressions on me and honestly it's left me questioning if I'm fundamentally going about this the wrong way. Were the ancients that paranoid about tricksters and evil spirits coming through posing as one of the Netjeru?

I even got told by one of my aunts that's a Santera that I shouldn't even be doing magic or heka because I'm not trained to do it, idk guys, I'd appreciate any tips or advice cause I do want to get better at this.

Made a perfume from a historical recipe

Hey guys, I recreated a version of the Mendesian perfume from a recipe I found online, it called for Extra virgin olive oil, myrrh, pine resin, cinnamon (cassia), and green cardamom.

I ground the spices in a mortar and then transfered them into a small bowl with the olive oil which I heated, using the Bain marie method, for about 3 hours and then I put it in a glass jar to let it rest for a couple of days, but It still smells kind of weak, I mean granted I know oil perfumes tend to be more subdued than alcohol based perfumes, but Im lucky if it lasts an hour and a half. And I've read that this fragrance was pretty strong when it was used during Pharaonic Egypt, does it need to go longer in the Bain marie or what?

I even added some extra spices and resins like cumin, coriander, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, frankincense, and couple of drops of dragons blood oil. The ratio to spices and oil was almost 1:1, I figured that would make it a little more strong, but Im pretty stumped.
