I work at a college and recently the college launched a literary journal. They made it seem like there would be an in-depth selection process for the pieces that get published but I had my suspicious that they would literally just publish anything hoping people would subscribe to see their work on there. To test this, during the meeting while they were announcing the launch of it, I wrote a poem on the spot and submitted it. It took maybe 10 minutes total. Sure enough it was selected to be published this Summer. I’m pretty tempted to call them out on this but I don’t want to hurt their credibility.
