My tax refund is months late, is there anything I can do?
Hi! I’m coming on here as a last resort because I’ve been trying for weeks and gotten nothing.
I filed my taxes in late January/early February of this year, and I STILL have not received my refund. I wasn’t too concerned with waiting until I realized that people who filed way later than me had already received theirs, and so I checked the irs website and it shows that my return was “received” but not that my refund was even approved or sent yet. It says it is still being processed and that no further action is needed from me.
However, it has been months since I’ve filed and my refund was supposed to be a decent amount, and I’m in a position where I need the money. I have called the irs and talked to the automated bot, it tells me the same thing the website has been telling me. When I finally get through to talk to a representative, it says the line is too busy and to call back later.
I have been checking the website, and calling, for weeks now and not heard anything.
What do I do? Is there even anything I can do??
