(SWADE) Deadlands - Is a Blessed with the Hexlinger edge too OP?

TLDR: I'm toying with the idea of playing a combat/exorcist priest for an upcoming campaign. Would allowing him to take the Hexlinger Edge to have the Ammo Whammy power be too OP?

To go into more detail: I really like this idea of a penitent priest that hunts monsters as a way to absolve his previous sins. But looking into the Blessed arcane background, the list of powers seems to heavily lean on support instead of firepower. Mechanically speaking, the power Ammo Whammy (from the Hexslinger) seems way closer to what I want, but the rest of the Huckster's arcane background heavily clashes with the concept of a priest (not to mention that I've already played a Huckster so I want something different).

Both I and my DM are fairly new to the system, so before springing this rule-breaking character on him, I would like some advice on how balanced this is. Is there a combo I should look out for? Is there an appropriate nerf for the character? Is this a perfectly fine homebrew? Or is this just too against the grain of the game?

Reasons to pick a "Spell" Tag instead of a "School of Magic" tag

Hi, I've recently started preparing for my first long-form campaign, and I'm trying to iron out my understanding of some of the more niche rule interactions.

So I know that the plus of having a tag like "Levitation Spell" over the general tag "Witch" saves you from having to make a prep action and allows you to use the spell as a direct tag, but I've found that "school of magic" tags like "Wind Magic" land somewhat in the middle, they are way more open than a specific spell, but as a DM I can hardly think of a situation where I would ask a player to make a prep action to get the "Levitation Spell" tag if they already have "Wind Magic", to me it sounds like wind magic is a pretty direct tag to make something levitate.

So with that in mind, wouldn't it always be best for my player to just get these more broad "school of Magic/Magic Specialty" tags like "Light Magic", "Concealing Spells" or "Blessings and Protections" instead of the narrower and more specific spells like "Dazzling Light" "Momentarily Change Appearance" or "Blessing of Courage"?

Should I be harsher with the "School of Magic" type tags? Should I just go for one of the two types and make my players always take that one to avoid disparity?
