I am getting ahead of myself because we are extremely early on in the allergy process but I am trying to understand how OIT works long term. If my child starts OIT around one, does this mean (if he doesn’t outgrow his allergy) he is going to be in maintenance for the rest of his life, requiring 2 hour rest periods everyday, etc. How is this possibly sustainable for a teenager or college student?
