Social life for Transfer?

Hi everyone, I’m a rising junior transferring to UNC this fall and I’m worried that I won’t be able to rebuild the social life that I’m leaving at my previous school. I’ve got lots of great friends in and out of my department, club leadership starting next semester had I stayed, and an environment where lots of people know me.

I’m worried that as a transfer I won’t be able to build this back up. My classes will be harder than ever making me less inclined to put myself out there on top of work, possible research, and living off campus.

Club involvement is easily possible but leadership will not be, I’m also leaving behind a lot of responsibilities at my old school so it makes my choice that much harder

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m assuming so for at least someone out there and really I’m just looking for some kind of guidance because I’m still not really sure if i made the right choice.

Hey everyone, I'm transferring as a rising junior and I want to know more about the housing situation. I would really prefer on campus housing over off but I'll have to settle for what I can get.

Does anyone have experience with this? If so, were you able to get housing? My main reason for wanting on-campus housing is that I don't want my social life to dwindle, and being on campus would really help me personally stay in a social environment. But if that's not possible, how can I get integrated into UNC as an off-campus junior transfer?

Hey all, I’m going to be transferring to UNC as a junior with as a part of the accelerated research program but I’m worried about the undergrad opportunities I’ll have there.

I’m a physics major and I want to get involved into research ASAP but I’ve heard that grad/PhD students get all the attention and it’s very difficult for undergrads to get research

Is this true? I’ve reached out to a couple of professors but they haven’t gotten back to me. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did finding research go for you?
