Recs for custom calipers 👀

Recs for custom calipers 👀

Why does prep suck so much? Spent 25 minutes sanding one, 3 more to go. Need to invest in some sort of laser etching atp. Gotta have these ready to install by Friday afternoon 🥵

Anyway wish me luck and give recs on the color / finish!

VHT Nightshades - What did I do wrong?

The shape of my taillights have made them nearly impossible to tint with wrap (as a novice) so I figured nightshades was a good compromise.

Cleaned them very well with degreaser, iso and let them dry. Did not pre-sand. Went in with about 3/4 coats of nightshades and wet sanded before the last coat (dried and tack clothed). Color was still looking a bit splotchy in some areas but I figured to hell with it as it was getting dark out and anything is better than the factory fire hydrant red they came in.

Let nightshades dry for about 30 minutes then wet sanded again, dried and tack clothed. Went in with 2-3 coats of 2k clear enamel. One headlight started to look like this on the top as it dried while the other showed no sign of this happening. Only two things of note that I can think of is that I did turn the lights on a couple of times to check the finish so maybe it could have started curing improperly. I was also using plastidip on another part of the car and I may have accidentally sprayed it on the top thinking it was the nightshades? I really don’t think the latter happened as I was double checking everything before spraying, but I am human so the chance is not 0%.

Anyway I’m confused as hell. What did I do wrong and can I fix it? Wet sand and polish maybe? Or do I need to sand off the clear coat and start over?
