first ear lobe stretch hurt kinda bad
went to my fav piercing spot to get them stretched (for the very first time! I've had my lobes pierced since i was a kid) and the piercer (not my usual lady.. some older guy) rushed my stretching a bit?? there were others waiting to be pierced as well (it's a popular shop) so i think he just wanted to be quick with it to move to the next person, but I'm slightly worried about my lobes now. i know i have some extra scar tissue from getting them done with a gun and also from having a butterfly back stuck in my ear when i was very young. I've heard it's not supposed to hurt bad, but i was kinda clenching my jaw! :(
will my lobes be okay? they're not irritated or anything, and the pain has subsided completely, but I'm just worried about micro tears messing up my next stretch. im currently at 2mm, and im gonna leave them alone for at least like 4-6 months before i even try again.
he even almost (very adamantly) convinced me into going straight to 3mm.. but after all that, i DEFINITELY didnt wanna do it. i think from now on, I'm gonna buy glass dead stretchers and do it at home instead. normally, i feel super welcome in this shop, but this kind of really bummed me out. ive had my nostrils and septum done there no problem.
i know that since I'm still at a small size, i should be okay when it comes to healing... but will i still be able to stretch further in the future? my end goal is around 8mm.. so nothing huge! i was just hoping for some advice on how to take care of them best for now.
im very, very sad about my experience because they've been my #1 shop for years, and they have stellar reviews. apparently he's also been stretching people for years and have only seen a couple blowouts in his days.
btw he used metal tapers if anyones wondering. (with lube of course!) i only just found out that tapers aren't the best for stretching, so please don't get too upset with me🙏 I'm very new to this, and I'm happy to listen to the stretching ogs
