I’ve been following the dev updates for Traveling at Night, and I have a quick question regarding the character design for "The Ministries" representative, Frauke. Based on her uniform and rank insignia, she appears to be modeled after a Soviet NKVD Podpolkovnik (Lieutenant Colonel), but I noticed an interesting detail: the 1943-pattern shoulder boards (pogoni) seem to have been adapted into collar patches.

I’m curious if this was a deliberate design choice by the developers—perhaps to fit the game’s specific "alt-history" aesthetic —rather than a strict adherence to historical uniform regulations.

On a related note, I also wondered about her name, Frauke. It’s a distinctly German name, which creates an intriguing contrast with the Soviet-inspired military aesthetic. Does anyone know if there’s a specific backstory behind this, or if it’s a hint at the cultural blending within the game’s world?

I'd love to hear your interpretations or if the developers have shared any insights on these design decisions!
