I got 290 in Writing around 2 months ago, it was so frustrating because I needed 10 points to pass. Now I got 350 on it! The other categories were similar to what I got this time.

To be honest, I underestimated the OET the first time and didn’t prepare for it as well as I should have. Writing needs the most work in my opinion (practice writing the letters with a timer, you need to be quick to have time to modify and review your submission. I also had AI correct my letter and saw many examples from OET videos),

then speaking (writing down some go-to sentences so you don’t have to look for your words when you’re testing, if you have anxiety like me, being nervous when talking to the proctor doesn’t help)

Reading and listening were lengthy but felt easy. Although I recommend you use the sample tests the OET provides. I think the computer-based samples help you get accustomed to the testing style.

Technical difficulties are also common, and it helped to retake the test to know what to watch out for. The proctors are nice and will usually give you instructions on what to do, just don’t panic, it doesn’t matter to start your test exactly at the time that was scheduled. I was worried about that, because the proctors would tell you to exit and come back and restart the verification process again, but it was fine.
