Looking for advice to succeed in Chem 261, Chem 263, and Bioch 200

Hi, I'm an Immunology and Infection major who is taking Chem 261, Chem 263, and Bioch 200 next year. I'm looking for advice on how to approach and do well in these courses, my goal is to achieve an A or an A-.

Some extra info:

  • I really liked organic chem in highschool, it was my favourite part of chem 20 and chem 30, I love drawing the organic chem molecules and learning their shapes. I really like biology, so I'm hoping that my organic chem and biochem classes overlap somewhat.
  • I will be taking chem 263 and bioch 200 together in the winter term, so looking for advice on how to do well with two chem-adjacent courses in the same term.
  • I found the theory parts of chem 101 and chem 102 to be a bit difficult, but really liked the math components of chem 102. I did better in chem 102 than in chem 101 because of the math components. I am a very visual learner, so I like seeing math problems solved out on a piece of paper and things in general drawn out. I really liked the coordination compounds/coordination chemisty unit of chem 102, and the electrochemistry unit.
  • I did really well in biol 108, but struggled with the heavy memorization of biol 107. I was able to work on my memorization skills and study habits though and did significantly better in biol 108, so hopefully I can keep building better memorization and study skills. I usually draw things out and it helps me memorize information, so I'm hoping that can be a useful way to study for organic chem. I don't know if there is any visual component to biochem though.

Any advice for organic chem and biochem is greatly appreciated!! Thank you very much and have a nice day to anyone who is reading this!
