Well between the worst fireworks and the religious message I hope the church doesn't expect a refund from the city this time. That was weak. My neighbors are still putting on a better show than them...

I love the movie and the book but I was thinking today about all the ways Hollywood ruins book adaptations. Here are some of the ways they could have ruined this movie and why I think they might have considered it but I am curious what I have missed.

1. Killed Rocky (could have argued it made his sacrifice more emotional)
2. Send Grace home (remove the last twist and give Grace a happy ending)
3. Grace/stratt love subplot (fans love to see it)
4. Make Grace perfect (could argue too much runtime wasted on "jokes")
5. Less science more magic (could argue that too much screen time spent on science explanations)
6. Cg rocky (puppeteer teams are expensive and difficult in production easier to edit cg in post)
7. Cg ship ("save" money and green screen everything)
8. Make rocky humanoid (audiences won't empathize with a rock it needs a face)
9. Keep it short (audiences don't have the patience for a 3 hour movie)
10. Remove the betrayal at the end (grace is easier to root for if he volunteers)

These are just some of my thoughts. What would you have hated to see?
