Front power windows won't go down
Hey folks!
Early last week the passenger power window wasn't working on my 2007 Speed. I could hear the switch (actuator?) clearly but the window wouldn't budge. The next day it worked just fine. Yesterday, neither front window worked. Again, I can hear the switch / actuator, but there is no movement. With the ignition on but the car off, when I engages either front window switch, the dash lights dim slightly so there is definitely a power draw. Note the sound the switch makes is noticeably different between when the ignition is on and the ignition is off, so I am definitely hearing more than just the mechanical clicking of the switch when the power is on.
In my mind, this rules out any fuse issues - but perhaps this is incorrect. Today I had my daughter help out by trying to force the windows down while I engaged the switch - again, no joy. So possibly this is a regulator issues? Seems odd that both would give up the ghost at exactly the same time.
I will check the fuses tomorrow just because it is the easiest thing to do - but beyond that, any thoughts on what I should be looking for / testing would be appreciated.
