I adopted my cat about 3 weeks ago. I’m taking him to the vet in about a month anyways, but I’m worried about his eye and wondering if I should try to take him sooner than that. He’s less than a year old, neutered. His eye has only been like this for 2 days, it looks a bit red, swollen, and has clear/yellowish goop. We’re from Ohio.

I’ve never owned a cat before and I accidentally used the spray in the photo while he was in the room ~4 days ago. Could that be the cause?
