My credit history in the US is still pretty recent, so I was having a really hard time getting approved to finance a new car. My FICO score was excellent, but since I’ve never had a loan under my name here, my credit profile was still considered “thin.”
I was already pre qualified through the Tesla app, but I figured I’d still end up with a high interest rate because other banks had quoted me something between 9% and 12% APR. Yesterday, I decided to give it a shot and went to the Tesla showroom here in San Diego (Miramar). Everything was fast and smooth, especially because I was already familiar with the simulations in the app.
We submitted the order and, within just a few minutes, I got two amazing approvals at 0% APR with only a $3.5k down payment. I was honestly shocked and super happy about it!Now I’m just waiting to get my new car in a couple of weeks. I’m really excited!
