Cancelled my order…

Bought a certified pre owned instead!

Was getting a ‘26 MY Premium RWD Stealth Gray. Ordered 8/2 and was given October delivery, then 8/16-8/31, then 8/24-9/21, and hadn’t been assigned a VIN.

For $8k less I’m getting:

  • 2024 MY AWD Long Range
  • Red
  • Has Auto Steer
  • HW4 FSD
  • 298/308 Range, 96%, just over 20,000 miles
  • Tow Package

The depreciation from new is substantial, $13,700 below MSRP in 2 years is $570/month. I figure I’m getting a like new car with the warranties while keeping the Auto Steer and same FSD hardware. Saving about $1,600 between taxes and registration helps offset the loan interest since I’ll be paying 6% instead of .99%.

They’re also crediting the $250 deposit on the 2026.

After years of driving a Nissan Leaf I couldn’t be more stoked, can’t wait to pick it up!

Tesla Wheel covers a hit or miss?

I just took delivery if my Model Y a few days ago and I noticed there is a company that has been heavily marketing these wheels to me everywhere I go online. I mean they look ok to me but maybe more appropriate for someone a but younger than I am. They are trying to market these saying they increase efficiency but I doubt a wheel cover would be able to increase battery efficiency by 10%-15% on its own. What do my Tesla aficionados think about these? All looks or some performance benefits also?

Considering trading my Lexus RX350 for a 2026 Model Y — anyone made a similar switch?

I currently have a 2021 Lexus RX350 base with 71k miles. I have about 3 years left until it’s paid off, and I genuinely like it. It’s comfortable, reliable, and Lexus obviously has a great reputation for longevity.
BUT… I test drove the 2026 Model Y and fell in love with it. 😭
My son had noticeably more room in the backseat, I actually found the seats more comfortable, the drive was incredibly smooth, and the technology made my RX feel pretty dated in comparison.
The financial side is what’s making the decision even harder. Tesla gave me a great trade-in offer because I have positive equity, my monthly payment would actually be lower than what I’m paying now, and I qualify for 0.99% APR.
I’m also spending around $70+ a week on gas right now, so being able to charge at home would make a pretty big difference.
The only thing holding me back is knowing that my Lexus is a solid, reliable vehicle and I only have 3 years left until it’s paid off. Part of me wonders if I’m just caught up in how much I loved the Model Y and will regret giving up a perfectly good RX.
Would love to hear from people who have owned both Lexus and Tesla, especially anyone who went from an RX to a Model Y. What did you love about the switch? What do you miss about the Lexus? And knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice again?
I’m interested in hearing both sides because I’m seriously torn. 😂

QUALE SCEGLIERE?

MODEL Y STANDARD O PREMIUM LONG RANGE?

Buongiorno Ragazzi,

Quindi non faccio tanti km all'anno.
Faccio qualche viaggio in montagna 2/3 volte all'anno.

Grazie 🙏🏽❤️

June 2026 build Juniper Premium RWD - Powershare V2L works

Ordered the mobile charger plug adapter on the first day the V2L Model Y rumors started. I can confirm that my Model Y RWD Premium built June 2026 has functioning Powershare! The Tesla store did say that the part would *not be compatible.

My parts catalog original VIN parts list, under the HV Battery Assembly/Ancillary Bay section, did have part #9 deleted, so I wasn't sure about it. BUT, further down in the Ancillary Bay list, there were several parts listed as related to "PCS2" or "PCS2 LITE" so that gave me some optimism.

So, regardless of Tesla removing the PCS2 part from our original VIN parts lists, I would say that if you see other PCS2-associated items in your list you should be good to go.

Things I wish Tesla fixes with an update - Software Edition

A bunch of small improvements that would make life better:

  1. Turn on the AC/Heat only with a butt in the seat. I find myself going back to the car to pick up my laptop, toddler’s bottle or some other stuff we leave. I hate when the entire AC starts when I open the door.

  2. Turn off Driver side air but keep passenger side on.

  3. Turn on battery preconditioning on demand.

  4. Auto dim select rearview mirrors not all

  5. Show 3rd party chargers like IONNA along my route.

  6. Do old style cruise control instead of FSD. FSD does too much sometimes. I don’t want to supervise the dumb shit it does. All I need is just go at a speed limit and in the same lane. TACC needs to be turned on while parkedZ

How do I stop passengers from slamming Model Y doors?

Does anyone have advice on how to stop passengers from slamming the door shut?

I'm an uber driver and I've just started driving a Model Y. My passengers are slamming the doors like crazy!

I tried asking them to close it gently but the drunks just take that as a challenge to slam them even harder.

What can I do? Is there a foam kit I can install to cushion the blow?

Do vin’s get assigned during or post production for new builds?

Ordered a premium awd on Aug 8th with a delivery window of 27 Aug-23 Sep. On the 17th, a vin was assigned and the delivery window narrowed to 22-25 Sep and the eta said the vehicle was in transit for delivery. I downloaded the delivery status app and entered my vin and it says it’s still in production. I’m wondering which is correct. Thanks!

Model Y handles Tahoe snow like an absolute champ — storm report, deep snow escape, & FSD review

We took out 2024 model y up to Tahoe last year during that massive storm where the Sierra got pounded with multiple feet of snow, and I wanted to share how the Model Y performed in proper winter conditions. If you're on the fence about taking an EV up into serious snow, hopefully this puts your mind at ease.

**The Setup & Drive Up**
**-Tires:** Swapped to **Michelin CrossClimate 2s** before the trip. These tires are legendary for a reason—3PMSF rated, quiet on the highway, and absolute grip monsters in slush and packed powder. Notably, I kept the stock 20 inch rims, and did not change to a Winter wheel size, which concerned me in the beginning, but as I found out later, didn’t make any difference at all.
**-Roof Storage:** Running the **OEM Tesla roof rack** paired with a **Thule carrier box** (holds 4 pairs of skis easily). I can’t remember the name of the carrier box but will post it if people like. Kept all the wet gear completely out of the cabin without taking a noticeable hit on efficiency in the storm.
**-The Storm:** Headed up right in the middle of a major dump. Highway traffic was crawling and the roads were unplowed in several stretches, but the AWD paired with the CrossClimates felt completely planted. No slipping, no drama, just solid traction the entire way up the pass. We got stuck on Donner pass for about three hours. No traffic movement at all. Snow coming down like crazy, below freezing temps outside. We just sat comfortably in the cabin perfectly climate controlled the entire time, used 2% battery waiting it out while gas cars had to constantly shut their engines on and off to save fuel.

**Buried at the Resort**
Came out after a full day of skiing to find the car literally buried up to the bumper in fresh powder. A few gas cars in the lot were spinning wheels trying to rock themselves out. I just cleared off the windshield, put it in gear, and let the car do the work. The traction control system on these cars is insanely precise, it crawled right out of the deep snowbank onto the plowed exit road without even needing to be dug out.

**Charging & Cabin Comfort**
**-Preconditioning & Defrost:** Every morning, I triggered the climate and Defrost mode via the app \~20 minutes before leaving. Walking out to a pre-warmed cabin with the battery fully conditioned and all the ice/snow completely melted off the glass and body panels was an absolute game-changer. This used I’d say around 3% of the battery in the am to do.
**-Supercharging in Freezing Temps:** Zero issues. Navigating to the Supercharger preheated the battery on the way, so charging speeds were fast despite sub-freezing ambient temps.

**The Drive Home with FSD**
After skiing all day, driving back on rubber legs is usually the worst part of the trip. Being able to engage FSD for the highway stretch home was huge. Not having to constantly manage stop-and-go mountain traffic or stay hyper-vigilant on tired legs made the commute back stress-free.
Overall, with a proper set of severe-snow-rated tires, the Model Y is easily one of the best winter trip vehicles I’ve driven.

Benefits of Tesla glass coverage if I already have full glass coverage through my insurance?

I bought my 2026 MY Standard in April and declined the glass protection. I brought my car in for service last week and they told me that they'll inspect the glass and if it passes I can get Tesla's glass coverage. It's only $16 a month but I already get full glass coverage through my insurance.

Is there a benefit to doing it through Tesla and paying the $16 a month or is it not needed since I'm already covered? Is there anything that they do that my insurance won't if I do get a crack and need a windshield replacement?

How soon?

Update to a previous post here- I had ordered a Model Y premium RWD, with white interior when one with the black interior became available for delivery through inventory. Delivery went down from 3-4 weeks to next week.

Right now it says “in transit” with a delivery tentative between 8/22-8/26. It won’t let me schedule yet, but for those who have experience, is this estimate pretty accurate? I’m in DFW for context.

Thanks in advance yall!

Slow build/delivery

Ordered a Model Y premium RWD red/white 19in wheels with a tow hitch to central FL

Order date 7/24 with a estimate on the order screen of 4-6 weeks

initial EDD WAS 8/15 TO 9/12

Just got pushed to 9/1 to 9/29

No VIN. First EV ever. Is this delay normal? Reading posts of people getting delivered in 2-3 weeks. Is there any tips or tricks to get info?
