Blocked from promotion, is this proper?

Currently 92. Interviewed and offered 93 role. Been in current role 14 months. Took parental leave 4 months within this time.
Being told I cannot take new role with hiring freeze limiting backfill and being told I have to be in current role 18+ the 4 months of leave.

Is this proper protocol blocking my promotion? Please advise.

Considering Voluntarily Dismissing Chapter 13 in Michigan – looking for real-world experiences

I’m about six months into a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in Michigan, and I’m starting to get cold feet. The hardest part is accepting that all my disposable income goes into the plan. My income may increase soon, and I may have a promotion opportunity, but my understanding is the plan payment could go up too. That makes it feel like I’d be taking on more stress without actually improving my situation. I’ve talked to my attorney, and they mentioned possibly revisiting expenses to offset some increase, but I’m still questioning whether staying in Chapter 13 is the best path forward. I understand the payments I’ve made so far may be sunk cost or may have gone toward some debts. Either way, that’s not my main concern. I’m trying to think forward from today. If I voluntarily dismiss, I assume I still owe the debts, the automatic stay ends, and creditors can resume collections, but I’m unsure how that plays out in real life. Is settling later a realistic strategy, or am I underestimating the risks? For anyone who’s been through this or understands Chapter 13 dismissals: What are the biggest real-world consequences? How fast do creditors tend to act? Could I end up worse off than just staying in the plan? I’m not looking for legal advice to replace my attorney, just real experiences, practical considerations, and questions I should be asking.

Bankruptcy chap 13 lawyer fee application

Quick question. I have a MetLife Legal plan through my employer. Pays legal fee, as such in my case proceedings.
I have never paid lawyer fee directly. The lawyer however filed for application of legal fees paid through my bankruptcy payments.

I’m wondering if he’s double dipping here, collecting money.
Also, does it make any difference to me as the payee?
I understand I pay x amount of money for an amount on months. Any balances remaining is dropped. Is there any risk to me that’s foreseeable in allowing this application?

Tax returns

Of course the lawyer told us through payment plan if our income increases, to inform him.
We got about 54 months remaining on the payment plan. Tax returns must be filed annually to trustee?

7 months into chapter 13…

(Michigan)
So, I entered Chapter 13 bankruptcy about 7 months ago, though I’d contemplated it for about a year before. Going in, the lawyer indicated our payments would be around $800 a month for both my wife and me. I make about $101K a year, she makes around $50K.

I did understand that as some initial loans were paid off, that freed-up income would then roll into the bankruptcy plan, ultimately raising the payment. Now it’s set to climb up to about $1,250 a month, and then in about a year go to $1,700 a month and that’ll last for around 3 or 4 years—basically double what I was initially told.

I agreed to it, knowing it would be tight—but now, 7 months in, I just feel completely demoralized. I make over $100K at a decent corporate job, and yet I feel broke. I’m really feeling the pinch, and I need some encouragement or advice. At this point, I’m even contemplating stopping the Chapter 13 altogether. I just don’t know what to do.

Also, 7 months in and only the lawyer has received funds from my payments as I have a MetLife legal plan which I understand payed attorney fees however apparently the lawyer gets paid on the backend first from my payments to the trustee. About 1 more month of that to the lawyer. Also wondering if I was duped by the lawyer in that case in accordance to my legal plan. There was a petition for lawyer payment I received which I didn’t object to at that time assuming it was proper.
