Facebook Marketplace Cars
I keep seeing Facebook posts like these, and the prices seem way too good to be true.
Listing 1:
Mercedes sedan
61,400 miles
Asking $6,000
Claims financing with only $600 down
Clean title
3.0L turbo V6 AWD
Listing 2:
2019 Mercedes-Benz A220
39k miles
Asking $5,000
$700 down
"1 owner"
"90 days warranty"
"No mechanical fault"
"Clean title"
These are being posted in Facebook groups like "Cheap Used Cars for Sale" and "Cheap Cars for Sale Under $3000."
This seems incredibly cheap compared to market value. Is there a catch? Has anyone dealt with listings like these before, and what are the biggest red flags I should watch for?
I've attached screenshots of both listings.
