Headcanon:

Stella's parents used to be so harsh on her to the point she started to see Starr Nova as her parent when she was a kid. And when she became 18 and bought her own house, she started to act like Starr Nova to fight aganist her bad thoughts and her parent's words about her. Thats why she gets so emotional when someone call her "delusional" , because her parents used to call her that. She now sees her parents as monsters that Starr Nova should defeat.
