Rats in the Del Norte area (cont)

I don’t know about other areas, but people who buy homes this part of El Cerrito WILL have a rat problem, no two ways about it.
The city refuses to become involved; their solution is to threaten to inspect and fine any homeowners who want to make it a city issue in any way. Their suggestion: have a block party where everyone can get together on a plan and paying for it, etc.
Here’s my suggestion: let’s get flyers out, with pictures. Hand them out wherever and whenever there’s an open house or evidence of home sale activity- see if the potentially new homeowners would be down with the block party plan.
Any real estate agents on this thread, please give us your opinion on our idea!

Rats around Del Norte

We’ve got an awful rat problem on Blake St. But walking home from BART along Elm the other night, they were fresh holes everywhere and rats darting in and out. Holes were interspersed throughout the neighborhood and it’s getting worse.
City Hall is not interested in the least, officially. At least 2 people down there considered rats part of our “natural habitat”, which is probably not sufficiently covered in real estate pitches for any of the newly for-sale properties throughout the neighborhood- ideas anyone?
