English Mocks Getting Unnecessarily Tough? (Testbook, Olive, RBE, etc
Is it just me, or have English sections in recent mocks become unnecessarily difficult?
I’ve been attempting mocks from platforms like Testbook, Oliveboard, RBE, etc., and the English feels overloaded , especially RCs and para based questions. The passages are extremely lengthy, packed with heavy philosophical vocabulary, and even the answer options are long and complex.
Honestly, at times it feels like the admins are just asking CHATGPT to generate the hardest possible paragraph with maximum vocab rather than something aligned with actual SSC CGL standards.
Earlier english felt like a scoring section where 15 minutes was more than enough. Now, even after giving proper time, comprehension itself becomes a task. The length + vocab density makes it hard to process quickly. :(
And one more genuine question. .. are these RCs closer to Bank po level english? (I have never appeared for a Bank exam )
