Warning about warranty and handles
I've had the carry on plus for five plus years and I have many Monos pieces as well as purchased and recommended for friends and family. I always liked the simplicity and stopped reliability but knew at some point the warranty would be the true test of the brand (mind you I purchased this when they were advertising lifetime warranty). I was surprised that of all things it was the handle snapping clean off that led to need to submit my claim. I thought I would get better news than a rejection:
"After reviewing the photos and details, the damage to the fixed handles appears consistent with stress-related failure rather than a defect in materials or workmanship. Handles can experience cumulative internal stress over time from lifting, packing weight, or pressure on the attachment points, even when there’s no single incident like a drop or travel-related impact. For this reason, this type of damage isn’t covered under our standard Limited Lifetime Warranty."
I'm at a loss at the fact that the damage to the handle is not covered under warranty and that my only option is to replace the whole suitcase. The warranty FAQ states the following: Handles or telescopic handles that stop performing as intended. I think the handle coming apart qualifies as "stop performing as intended" in this case.
Anyone else have issues like this? I also had purchased another check in luggage where one of the zippers came off during first use and they want me to use the purchased warranty to fix it. I can't recommend this brand to anyone.
